Defects in Ggt1 are a cause of glutathionuria, severe growth failure, reduced life spans and infertility. Ggt1-deficient mice have multiple metabolic abnormalities and are dwarf. Some abnormalities can be ameliorated by N-acetylcysteine treatment [Q60928 ];
