Deoxyuridine can also act as acceptor, and dGTP can act as a donor. The deoxypyrimidine kinase complex induced by Herpes simplex virus catalyses this reaction as well as those of EC (AMP---thymidine kinase), EC (ADP---thymidine kinase) and EC (dTMP-kinase).
